Thanks again. Thank you!! Gosh the pc worked for the day and then it got all tempremental. It worked for me: Only Having IE "Run as Administrator" did not work, but after i have rested the Advance options it seems to have worked for now. Will keep you all posted if I have anything else later.
Removing Omnipage from start up worked for me! Can still use the program without problems, and who needs it running in the background anyway??? Wow - thanks for the great tip. It was so frustrating not being able to get online - even though the Windows update Manager seemed to be getting online access! The reset button worked like a charm. Hi Peter. Thanks so much for your help. But hitting the Reset button cannot do anything to run my browser. I believed that it was the Trend Micro PCCillin that's blocking my browser to connect to the internet because after unistalling it and shifted to Norton Internet Security , i was able to connect to the internet again. Explorer the dialog. Disable all the extensions, restart IE7 and test. This disable will keep the extension turned off. Bad extension found.

Disabled it and re-booted and all is now fine; except I need toget an OmniPage update My new Vista Home Premium PC was set up in August and worked fine until a few days ago when it said I had a local network connection but no Internet conection.
This happens when the PC is first turned on for the day. It can be temporarily fixed by selecting the "network adapters" in the "device manager" and clicking disable then clicking inable and waiting a few seconds. It will also start working if you reset tha IP number.
It only lasts until the PC is shut down. I have found no permanant fix and don't know why this happens everyday. I tried all the suggestions ans came up with nothing. So far it is only saying windows stopped working and is restarting auto when I go to apple. I've got IE unable to find any internet connection, meanwhile firefox is connecting fine.

The iPod went into a coma and could not be revived. I had to rollback Vista to a previous state in order to install the Photoshop update. A few days later a friend with an Apple laptop updated her iTunes and managed to recover the iPod from it's near death condition.
Apparently Apple is in a day-to-day struggle to improve it's programming for Windows. Just keep downloading it until they get it right. On all my machines 2 desktops, 3 notebooks I use Microsoft Security Essentials and Superantispyware together.
They do not get in each others way nor slow down my machines. I have seen Browser not responding messages on both Chrome and IE. It has always been a piece of malware and MalWarebytes always finds and eliminates it. I have also had good success using the method Leo recommends here. I always have Chrome installed and regularly switch between browsers. There have been a lot of improvements since those products were released. When i had first gotten my PC i had downloaded chrome and then uninstalled IE.
My chrome was acting up so i uninstalled it not remembering i had deleted IE. How can i get an internet browser again? IE wont open when i click on it. Download the Chrome. There are ways to disable parts of it, and even remove other parts of it, but the fact remains that Internet Explorer is a key part of Windows itself. It cannot be completely removed, and still have Windows work.
Hello Leo Sir, I liked your explaining techniques. It solve all the problem in a minute. I m also facing IE problem every now and then. To optimise my laptop I have installed Tuneup utility just now. But after installing it I am facing overload, screen blank while booting,taking longtime 2. Kindly guide me. Tuneup and registry optimizers often cause more problems than they solve. The can mess up registry settings in the attempt to clean the registry.
Hi Leo.. Thanks for your comments — very helpful indeed! However, here is a little glitch that I found … My laptop had become horribly slow, and I was running both Chrome and IE I like Chrome at least, I like it on my laptop, but it is not too reliable on my android phone!
Anyway, I got the crazy idea to delete IE11 after trying all the other fixes to speed up my laptop sort of thinking I knew what I was doing!! So, I did it holding my breath.
All was well. But, I now find that I would like to have IE11 back again. Any ideas? I am having the same problem. Windows Live Mail stopped working. I tried to open IE 11 and it opened for a split second and closed again immediately. I tried to turn off and turn on again in Windows features.

Same problem. Vista bit. Tried disabling antivirus, but no difference. Updates show as installed in Programs and Features. Would welcome a work around. I'm perfectly willing to edit registry if that's what it would take to effect a repair. It's for the standalone Excel Viewer. Probably not applicable to people with the full Office suite installed.
